Aslm wrwb…

This is quite embarassing really… one of my personal objective for Q4’05 is 2 new technical cert, and since I was too busy (read: too lazy, unorganized, no plan whatsoever), I just have time for the two in December, while some other jobs have also been waiting to be done… and to make it more frustrating, also the stress about KPR, and no one to ‘talk’ to :p I really felt that this year is so heavy for me, but still keeping faith that when it’s over, joy will come around :)

And today, I felt so much joy, that some of my burden have passed by… the hassle with the passport, finally got the chance to go abroad, and the GREATEST gift this year, now I am a permanent staff in SMI, finally passed the hardest obstacle in the mortgage thing, and after failing in the first try, just now I passed the SCJP 1.5 exam… really grateful, since I have really little time to prepare… whole week I have to shadow the SG consultant in the portal issues, and Hengky constantly chasing me for the seebeyond demo… aah, thanks God it’s Friday… gonna forget them all for the weekend, and get back to battlefield next monday :D

Alhamdulillah…

One other interesting thing was, when I was in HMV store, looking for Dream Theater’s CDs, there’s this girl browsing thru the DT’s albums. Man, this is something cool, I thought :) And out of nowhere I said things, and we ended up chatting eagerly, about DT of course. That was really not like me, a shy guy :) I didn’t really catch her name though, it was chinnesse’s name and I am really bad in remembering chinnesse’s name :) But, unfortunately she was with her boyfriend, who might be thinking of nasty things to do to me :p It was fun though, having a chat with the local girl hehehe.

... trip oversea
akhirnya kesampaian juga mimpi pgn liat bagian dunia yg lain, walaupun deket banget, yg penting pake paspor dan gratis :p Yg bikin lega sih, krn persiapannya ribet bgt, tp akhirnya sampe jg, walaupun terpaksa deposit S$150 utk hotel gara2 gak punya CC. fuih. Untung msh cukup buat makan.

My first impression was, is this country real, cause it looks so much like in the movies :) It was very clean, the road is in very good condition, with so many big trees in the middle.

The funny thing is, everytime I see Indonesian faces, I was always interested to hear what they were talking about, and sometimes I realize they we’re Malaysians. And the rest is talking about shopping :p Yes, Orchard Rd was said to be a shoppers’ paradise.

But, the shops really doesn’t interest me, well maybe because I don’t have a lot of money :p But, I am more interested in seeing the people, the habit, the culture… But, in the second day, akhirnya ketemu juga yg nyeleneh, yg nyebrang sembarangan, gelandangan, sampah sembarangan, but cuma dikiit, dan sebagian dilakukan oleh foreigners hehehe. Tapi kalo BB alias bau badan, sepertinya gak pandang bulu tuh, yg berbulu dan tidak tetep selalu ada :p Tapi tetep, banyak hal unik yg menurut gua keren, seperti penjual es krim dengan roti di sepanjang taman di Orchard Rd, shoppers going crazy until their legs scream, trishaw, etc. I actually found Es Teler 77 and Ayam Penyet shops, but I didn’t try those, what’s the point of coming here if only to eat Indonesian Foods hehehe. I didn’t notice you’re muslim hmmm, mungkin jgn cukur jenggot kemaren :p

Not much money, but I’ll take as many photos as I can :p Now, the instructor is already coming, need to stop this, gonna continue later I guess…

Aslm wrwb,

Today I attend a coffee talk with some of my coworkers and board of directors. When it was my turn to speak, I talked about how hard it was to do my job with the absence of a knowledge base of experts on software area, esp Java. And also about how Java ES still doesn’t have big mindshare in the Indonesian developers community. From those two issues, I got a lot of feedbacks, which I can conclude into two words: Contacts and Passions.

Contacts, this means that I should have more contact to discuss and share knowledge. Before this, I usually only escalated my issues to my peer and let him contact our regional peers. This is how the procedure works, but in some cases I really need to have my own contacts to gain more knowlegde and be better. Nice one, thx :)

Passions, this means that I gotta have passion for my job. Even the big boss said, if I love what I do, that’s a great gift, that is to enjoy what you do means you’re not working :) I do enjoy what I do before, and my current job is even more enjoyable. But one of the managers said that I gotta have more passion, and share in the community. If the community doesn’t familiar with Java ES, well I have my share of the blame. It reminded me how I was so passionate that some even call me religious in Java :p Aah, it hit me good, I share too little lately. Even better advice… thx again.

And the Personal Profile Analysis report just came in. It is interesting to read good stuff about yourself, right? Hmm, it seems like I cheated on the test somehow that I got exactly what I wanted to look like. But hey, maybe it’s just what I am, coz I remember answering all of the questions honestly :D Anyway, it shows some facts that all of this time I couldn’t see or figure out. Really helps me to define my objectives.

The funny part of the report is, it said that I might be in a frustion currently, and should be looked into by my manager to avoid performance fall. I didn’t expect them to find out that I was frustrated, man… the machine is damn good. But what is it that frustratres me? Is it the project’s stress, or is it my dissatisfaction of my peer, or my personal life? Well maybe the complication of all….

Words to describe me from the PPA: Innovative self-starter, assertive, decisive, confident, positive, gregarious, eager, restless, independent, strong-willed, alert, competitive.

Hi, today is my company’s 5th anniversary. Not very keen in the beginning, since I have only been here for 5 months, but I should enjoy it rite? At least I get to wear casual and get free lunch hehehe.

There was a guest speaker, Mr. Nos, giving a presentations about vision, mission, values, etc. I must admit, he was a great speaker, I didn’t get bored, eventhough the material is not new to me. He even gave me new perspective on the subject. Afterwards, lunch time, I had too much rice that I failed to taste all of the food :(

After that, the bowling competition!! I was shy and nervous, coz I’ve never played bowling before, I was afraid of embarassing myself in front of my workmates :) My team didn’t actually win, we’re the 8th, and the prizes are only for 1st to 7th rank, hehehe. Well, but in the second game, which is not counted in the competition, I actually start to get the feeling, and scored 137, the highest in my team, and if I’m not mistaken, the second of all game, after my boss Rival who got 156. Not bad, for personal record, not to mention that it was fun and free :p

So guys, anybody wants to go bowling?!

aslm,

  2. Sun Java Desktop System R3 GA -> ganti lagi karena package tree ngaco, gagal ngehack kernel terbaru >:)

  3. Sun Solaris 10×86 3/5 -> still fresh, already got KDE3.4 and lotsa other stuff from blastwave.org!

  1. gua orangnya curios banget, iseng suka ngutak-ngatik :p

  2. curiosity kills stupid cats :p but I learn a lot anyway :p

dah ah, weekend dulu…

I was very excited to go to Bogor for the join plonning session. It is gonna be my first business trip out of town after three years working. I was so much looking forward to it, staying in a hotel, not working in the office :) Especially because I envy Haryo, he’s been around much. Projects in Bandung, and now to some other big cities for deployment.

But now I must say goodbye to that dream, cause in the last minutes, one of my managers decided to bring less people to the meeting, and I am one of the removed names :( ( Now, Didit will mock me even more, he already said that it’s only to Bogor, while he is going to Medan. Bogor is not out of town he said, and even that I’m not going, hiks…

Good thing is, I already got the laptop. I got it sooner because I was supposed to go to Bogor. Well, I am not so sad anyway, I can handle this. It’s just some meeting. Hopefully soon I’ll get a training abroad. Surely I’ll be happy then :)
